 I remember in grade school math there was a thing called the commutative property  of mathematics.

 As you may recall, it stated that if A= B, then B=A.  It was a RULE.

 Therefore, if (according to management) it doesn't take you any  longer to deliver

 mail  with a full coverage - (A) being the time for a full coverage - then it shouldn't  take you  any LESS time for days without a full coverage (B).

 Or, to put it another way, take the same amount of time it takes you on a non full   coverage day as it takes you on a day when you do.

 I figure if we all hit management with that irrefutable argument, the steam generated  from management's forehead could be tapped as an alternative energy source and

 our  country could be energy independent within weeks.  Plus we'd have the extra  benefit  of watching their faces turn more colors than autumn foliage.
